“We have a real chance to improve quality of care to people and things. We create solutions by combining voice technology and device sensors that enable customers to communicate, prioritise, collect data and continually improve.”— Paul Wilson
What do you do at Wallflower?
We are sharing our new product “Voyce” to the market right now so I am spending most of my time talking and listening to customers. Whilst I share our product’s values and attributes I really try to listen to them as much as possible. This helps me understand the challenges they face in their business. I then spend time with my team and encourage ideas that address our customers’ challenges.
Why did you join Wallflower?
I met Victor (Founder) a few years ago just as he had a vision to create sensing and voice technology for care and safety applications. On a personal level we hit it off. So when he asked me to join Wallflower I jumped at the chance to work with Voice pioneers (Victor, Founder & James, CTO are both ex YAP) and take the experience I had from smart and wireless consumer products into care and enterprise applications.
What benefits do you think Wallflower’s Voyce bring?
We have a real chance to improve quality of care to people and things. We create solutions by combining voice technology and device sensors that enable customers to communicate, prioritise, collect data and continually improve. In hospitals we enable nurses to receive patient alerts, message and talk to colleagues all hands free. For care providers and drug manufacturers we monitor patient wellbeing and medicine efficacy in the home through our virtual therapist, mobility and vital sign sensing solutions.
How do you balance work and life in a remote environment?
This is certainly a challenge and we work across continents and time zones at Wallflower. Taking some time for exercise, family meals and some evening downtime is important.
Favourite Show or Podcast?
I’m a big podcast fan and right now I am listening to Ian Wright’s Everyday People. There are some real heroes featured with amazing personal stories, challenges and contributions. it’s uplifting and inspiring.
What are you most excited about in the future at Wallflower?
Helping doctors, nurses and carers. They are real heroes who dedicate their lives to care for others. Seeing our products make their work a bit easier is really exciting. Our new Voyce wearable is a real performer that they can count on.
With home monitoring I’m excited to see our products keep people safe at home for longer. Our monitoring solutions support this, in turn giving loved ones a bit more peace of mind. That is really cool.
